After âWalking in Memphisâ enjoying tours of Elvis Presleyâs Graceland, Sun Studio, The Memphis Pyramid â our Rock & Roll to Ragtime Tour passes through Little Rock in Arkansas, the city made famous by President Clinton, then heads South to Texas. Weâll explore both Dallas & Fort Worth, before visiting Americaâs Music Capital â Austin. The state capital of Texas is famous for its eclectic live-music scene centred around the country, blues and rock music found on 6th Street! Following a visit to NASAâs Johnson Space Center in Houston, this fabulous music themed tour ends in The Big Easy – New Orleans Louisiana!

Welcome to your Rock and Roll to Ragtime Tour and Memphis Tennessee, where the sounds of Rock & Roll, Blues & Soul can be heard throughout the city. After check-in, get to know your Guide, driver and fellow travellers at an informal welcome meeting. Perhaps use tonightâs free time to experience the music and atmosphere found on the world famous Beale Street!
Today we will cross the mighty Mississippi River into the Natural State of Arkansas, to visit Johnny Cashâs birth place in Dyess. Back in Memphis, weâll learn about his part in the the Million Dollar Quartet in Sun Studio. After our tour of Sun we will travel the short distance to the Graceland Mansion to celebrate the life and music of âThe Kingâ - Elvis Presley! This evening, maybe head downtown and visit Jerry Lee Lewisâ Cafe & Honky-Tonk, BB Kings Blues Club or any of the other fantastic music venues or restaurants!
Leaving Memphis behind, our next stop en route to Texas will be Little Rock, the State Capital of Arkansas. Following lunch we continue our travels into the Lone Star State, where our destination is Dallas! After settling in and freshening up, an evening in Deep Ellumâs Entertainment District awaits.
Itâs time to explore Dallas. This modern metropolis in north Texas is the commercial and cultural hub of the region. We will visit the Texas Civil War Museum and have a driving tour of the area before some free time in downtown Dallas!
After Breakfast we will visit Downtownâs Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, which commemorates the site of President John F. Kennedyâs assassination in 1963, before travelling to the home of TV's Ewing Family -Â Southfork Ranch. This evening, we will visit the worlds biggest Honkytonk - Billy Bob's Texas!
Today we will travel the short distance to Fort Worth. In the late 19th century, Fort Worth became an important trading post for cowboys at the end of the Chisholm Trail. Today, it's a modern city, with international art institutions like the Kimbell Art Museum. The Fort Worth Stockyards are home to rodeos, cattle drives and the NationalCowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame which honours pioneers. We will have time to explore the Stockyards and pay a visit to the fabulous Sundance Square!
After breakfast we will travel to Austin, the state capital. Home to the University of Texas but better known for its eclectic live music scene, centred around country, blues and rock. South of the city, Formula One's Circuit of the Americas raceway has hosted the United States Grand Prix. During our stay here, you will have plenty of free time to enjoy the sights and the sounds that make Austin, Texas "America's Music Capital"
On our final day in Austin, you will have plenty of time to visit the local attractions at leisure, before enjoying the music scene and great atmosphere youâll find down on 6th!
Today we will travel to San Antonio and visit the Alamo, where 200 defenders â including the famed frontiersman Davy Crockettâheld out for 13 days before the Mexican forces finally overpowered them. For Texans, the Battle of the Alamo became an enduring symbol of their struggle for independence. We will continue our day by spending some time on San Antonio's River Walk followed by free time to enjoy this wonderful city.
After breakfast, we will travel to Houston and pay a visit to the NASA Space Centre. After relaxing a while at our hotel we will take you into downtown Houston so you can explore and enjoy a leisurely dinner and the City's top night spots.
As we bid a fond farewell to Texas and make our way to New Orleans. You will have free time to enjoy yourself in the French Quarter and on Bourbon Street or ride a tram into the city. There are so many things to do and see in New Orleans you are truly spoilt for choice.
Enjoy exploring all that this vibrant city can offer at your leisure! New Orleans is nicknamed the "Big Easy" and known for its round-the-clock nightlife, vibrant live-music scene and spicy, singular cuisine which reflects its history as a melting pot of French, African and American cultures.
After a leisurely breakfast, our tour ends and it is time to say goodbye to the friends you have made on the Rock and Roll to Ragtime Tour.
